Nighthawks

Published in the wake of the financial crisis, at a time when car sales were in rough shape and lending standards were incredibly tight, this cover was purposefully designed to echo the 1942 Edward Hopper painting Nighthawks – which now hangs in the Chicago Museum of Art.

This original photo was taken in sub-zero weather, note the fresh fallen snow, outside of Curry Chevrolet – a GM dealership in Yonkers, New York, which still exists.
